Bench Staging & Systems Engineer SOP Guide
Standard operating procedures for pre-flashing Intel N100 Core Gateways, pre-pairing Zigbee sensors,
testing RTSP video bridges, and packaging turnkey kits for field installation crews.
The Intel N100 fanless appliance is the physical brain of the estate. It must be 100% pre-configured at our shop so that when the installer plugs in power and Ethernet at the estate, it connects silently without any on-site software debugging.
1. Flash Everyday Sovereign OS / Gateway Image
Burn the verified Debian/Everyday Agent master image to the NVMe SSD.
2. Bind Everyday Agent & Telemetry Daemon
Assign the job license ID and verify 24/7 heartbeats to services.everydayitinc.com.
3. Configure Local Mosquitto MQTT & WebSocket Broker
Ensure local publish/subscribe response time is under 30 milliseconds.
The Zero-Pairing Rule for Field Techs:
Subcontractors should never spend time holding pairing buttons with paperclips on ladders.
All Zigbee sensors, smart deadbolts, and dimmers are paired to the N100 USB coordinator on the test bench.
- Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Plus: Plug into USB 3.0 port via a 3-foot extension cable (reduces USB 3.0 radio interference).
- Pair & Name Each Device: Pair the contact sensors and immediately label them in the software (e.g.,
foyer_door, kitchen_island_leak, patio_french_left).
- Physical Thermal Labeling: Affix a clean thermal label to the back of the physical sensor: "ZONE 1: GRAND FOYER FRONT DOOR".
For estates with existing Ring doorbells or UniFi RTSP cameras, pre-configure the local video bridge container:
- Local RTSP Stream Generation: The bridge logs into the client’s credentials securely and rebroadcasts the camera to
rtsp://127.0.0.1:8554/stream1 for zero-latency AI analysis.
- Everyday Voice Phone Route: Provision a dedicated local 10-digit telephone number on Everyday Voice (`voice.everydayitinc.com`). Test calling the number to verify the AI concierge answers with the personalized estate greeting (*"Good afternoon, you have reached the Sterling Residence..."*).
Systems Accreditation Exam
Bench Staging & Systems Knowledge Check
Answer all 3 questions correctly to achieve Everyday Estate Certified Systems Engineer accreditation.
1. Why must all Zigbee sensors and deadbolts be paired and labeled on the bench before shipping to the job site?
A) To deplete the coin cell batteries before install
B) To ensure 100% plug-and-play field installation so the contractor never wastes time pairing devices on ladders
C) It is required by local city building codes
2. Why should the Sonoff Zigbee USB coordinator be plugged in via an extension cable instead of directly into the PC chassis?
A) To isolate the Zigbee 2.4 GHz radio from USB 3.0 motherboard RF noise and maximize sensor range
B) Because the USB port is too small
C) To make the gateway heavier
3. How does the Everyday Voice™ telephone route function for the estate?
A) It plays a loud radio commercial
B) It provides a dedicated 10-digit number for inbound family AI commands and outbound emergency leak/intrusion voice alerts
C) It requires a fax machine to be plugged in
